WHAT IS AIDA?
AIDA (founded 1992) is the oldest and one of the most widely recognized freediving organizations in the world. Its recreational courses run from a first introduction through to advanced freediving, with a strong emphasis on safety, technique, and the buddy system. At Mabini Freediving Club, AIDA courses are taught by a certified AIDA instructor in small groups.
AIDA COURSE LEVELS
AIDA 1
₱8,500An introductory course, mostly in confined/pool water. You learn basic theory, breathing, relaxation, fundamental technique, and safety/buddying — a low-commitment way to get a proper first taste of freediving.
Best for: total first-timers easing in.
AIDA 2
₱15,000Your first full certification. Adds open-water depth plus static (STA) and dynamic (DYN) disciplines, with theory, pool training, and depth sessions. This is the most popular starting point for committed beginners.
Best for: your first real certification. (Equivalent to Molchanovs Wave 1.)
AIDA 3
₱20,000An advanced level: deeper diving, more advanced technique and theory (including equalization progression), and rescue from depth. For divers ready to go beyond the fundamentals.
Best for: certified divers going deeper. (Equivalent to Molchanovs Wave 2.)

How much do AIDA courses cost in the Philippines?
AIDA 1 is ₱8,500, AIDA 2 is ₱15,000, and AIDA 3 is ₱20,000. Pool/dive fees, basic gear use, and underwater media are included.
What's the difference between AIDA 1, 2, and 3?
AIDA 1 is an introductory, mostly confined-water course. AIDA 2 is your first full certification, adding open-water depth plus static and dynamic disciplines. AIDA 3 is advanced — deeper diving, more advanced technique and theory, and rescue from depth.
Do I need AIDA 1 before AIDA 2?
Not necessarily. Many beginners start directly with AIDA 2, the first full certification. AIDA 1 is a great lower-commitment introduction if you'd prefer to ease in first.
Is AIDA better than Molchanovs?
